On Friday, 19th September 2025, the Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, together with officials from the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, visited Aboom Special School and the Cape Coast School for the Deaf/Blind to make a thoughtful donation aimed at supporting the education and wellbeing of students with special needs.
During the visit, the team presented a range of essential items to the schools. These included packs of carbonated drinks, bags of sachet water, boxes of biscuits, toilet rolls, washing powder, exercise books, erasers, pencils, and various other learning materials. The gesture was warmly received by the school authorities and students, who expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the continued support.
This meaningful outreach was further supported by Kings and Queens Ministry, who contributed additional items to complement the donation. Their involvement highlights the power of collaboration between public institutions and private entities in addressing the needs of our communities.
The donation forms part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to promote inclusive education and ensure that children with disabilities have access to the resources they need to thrive. Hon. George Justice Arthur reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to building a more inclusive society where every child, regardless of ability, is given equal opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.
Such initiatives are not only acts of kindness but also powerful statements of solidarity, reminding us that together, we can create a more caring and equitable Cape Coast.
