The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has donated assorted relief items worth millions of cedis to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Office of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
The items included 100 bags of rice (25kg each), 500 student mattresses, 500 blankets, 70 boxes of sachet oil, and several other essentials to support victims of recent disasters in communities such as Ekon, Ola Madina, Amoakofuwa, Amissaekyir, Amanful, and others.
Presenting the donation at the Metropolitan Assembly in the presence of the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. George Justice Arthur, the President of the Church’s Cape Coast Ghana Stake said the gesture was to strengthen NADMO’s capacity in assisting disaster-affected communities.
On behalf of NADMO and the people of Cape Coast, Hon. Arthur expressed profound gratitude to the Church for its continuous support to humanity. He emphasized that such partnerships go a long way in safeguarding lives and livelihoods.
The NADMO Regional Administrator, Mr. Enoch Kojo Forson, also assured that the relief items will be distributed fairly and directly to the affected persons.
