On the morning of Tuesday, the Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur visited the victims and pupils of Aboom Zion B Basic School who were attacked by a swarm of bees during school hours. The unexpected incident left several pupils injured, with some requiring immediate medical attention.
During his visit, the Mayor expressed deep concern and extended heartfelt sympathies to the affected pupils and their families.
He assured them of the city’s full support and emphasized that the safety and well-being of students remain a top priority. In a show of solidarity and compassion, the Mayor, together with the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, has pledged to cover all medical expenses incurred by the victims. This includes bills for those currently receiving treatment at medical facilities, as well as for those who have already been discharged.
The leadership also committed to working with relevant authorities to prevent such occurrences in the future, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all schoolchildren in the Metropolis.
