The Metropolitann Chief Executive of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur attended the Global Convenance of Mayors (GCoM) Conference on Business Matchmaking in Cape Town South Africa from Monday, 2nd to Thursday 5th June, 2025.
The conference aimed at fostering international partnership among cities and promoting relationship among participating leaders of major local governments.
It also sought to explore areas of mutual environmental sustainable growth and discussed issues on financing climate change efforts of the participating local governments.
Hon. George Justice Arthur made presentation on the vision to develop Fosu Lagoon Park to serve as both recreational facility and also protect this beautiful natural assets from human destruction.
He also used the opportunity to invite financers to Cape Coast to invest in sanitation management, education, tourism and agri-business purposes.
The event was organized by ICLEI, a global network of cities and local governments promoting environmental sustainability. The office of the Metropolitan Chief Executive sit on the Regional Executive Committee of the African branch of the group (ICLEI-Africa).
